Biography
Petroula Koutousi was born in Serres, Greece in 1979. She attended the Technical High school of Nigrita, Greece and studied in the Department of Agriculture completing her Abiture in 1997. From 1998 until 2003 Koutousi worked as a ceramicist in the studio of Panagi Alexiou. With her exposure to ceramics she became ceramics seminar director for the youth of a Serres Gymnasium. Owning her own studio by 2005 she branched ceramic workshops to disabled children becoming a faculty member and ceramics instructor at a Center for Child Creativity in Serres in 2008. Advancing her education in 2008, she moved to Germany and studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Ceramics and Glass (IKKG) Fachhochschule Koblenz, Höhr Grenzhausen earning her BFA – 2011 and her MFA – 2013.
1st solo show in 2007, “Mother Earth”, took place in Serres. With several group exhibitions to follow she partook in Artist Invitational shows in Serres in the years 2003-2004-2005. In 2009, Artist Invitational in Marousi, Athen and in 2010 she participated in an Artist Invitational in Bauernmuseum Haus Saargau, Wallerfangen-Gissingen. In cooperation with her art institute she represents a part of the 25th Anniversary Exhibition of the Institute for Ceramic and Glass Art begin exhibited in the year 2012.
